The Bighorn Center is not currently accepting applications for interns. The Bighorn Center for Public Policy is a non-profit organization formed to sustain and improve the quality of life in Colorado. We welcome candidates that are in pursuing a graduate degree. All candidates should have a bachelors degree. Our ideal internship candidate will demonstrate:
Research Skills: The candidate must be able to do extensive manual and internet-assisted research. Communication Skills: The candidate must be able to organize and present research findings in written outlines, brief reports, and verbally. The Ability to Work in a Small, Dynamic Office: Interns interact regularly with a diverse staff with a wide range of professional and political backgrounds. Because this is a small organization, administrative or clerical duties may also be required. Knowledge of Colorado Government: The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of Colorado government and a desire to learn about government at the state and local levels. An Interest in Many Issues: Bighorn interns must be prepared to work on a wide variety of issues, from economic development to K-12 education.
Bighorn Internships are three month paid positions. Compensation depends on the background and experience of the candidate.
